Dehnamak Shah Abbasi Caravanserai - Bahram Palace
Dehnamak Caravanserai or Shah Abbasi Caravanserai or Bahram Palace[1] in Dehnamak village is 20 km east of Aradan, 40 km east of Garmsar, and 150 km east of Tehran. It is on the route of the old and historical Jaad-e Sangi going to Isfahan, Kashan, Garmsar, and Khorasan. The Shah Abbasi Inn is among the national monuments of the country. In a study by the Iranian cave scholars, the earliest memorial date seen dates back to 1001 AH by Mirza Mohammad Raja and appears to be the oldest memorial in the palace. According to the pottery found around the site and archaeological research that indicates the present building was laid on the foundation of an ancient ruin, the inn seems to date back to the Timurid and pre-Islamic times. Still, the exact date of construction of the building cannot be determined. However, it can be said that during the Safavid period, the building was fundamentally repaired and completely renovated and hence became known as the Shah Abbasi Caravanserai. An important point worth mentioning is, the water needed by the residents was supplied by two ducts on top of each other. The lower duct was made of clay pipes, and the other was a stone hood made of integrated white stone in the shape of a boat on the first duct. The water from Cheshmeh Shah was brought about seven kilometers from the palace at the foot of Siahkouh and gathered in the large pools built in front of the building. A pipe has now been replaced. The structure of this river is one of the masterpieces of its era. iranview.irCategoriesBlogTAGSAbbasi CaravanseraiBahram PalaceDehnamak Caravanserailake desertcentral desert of irangarmsarsemnan38410 Viewed
