Lake Desert is a multi‑media project that brings together film, audio essays, photography, and archival materials to tell the story of Iran’s Central Desert and its vanished lakes. Through documentary footage, recorded testimonies, and visual archives, the project traces ecological change, local memory, and the cultural ties that bind people to these landscapes. It invites viewers to experience the region’s history and to reflect on stewardship, resilience, and the creative ways communities remember and respond to environmental loss.

Lake desert can be anywhere on our planet. Any place that loses water will turn into a desert and wherever water finds its way towards any desert, it becomes a lake. For thousands of years, Mankind has been helpless in face of mother nature, which he is part of and is surrounding him. Now, it seems we have overcome more things in the nature. In spite of all these, we selfishly thrive towards destroying the nature which also belongs to the coming generation, at a high speed. Like it or not, we are passengers on the route nature has set for us. So, why not treat what is in front of us with kindness, compassion and fairness. #lake_desert
